Paver and concrete restoration across the three faces of Mijas

In shortMijas is a coastal municipality of the Costa del Sol Occidental whose territory takes in Mijas Pueblo, the long strip of Mijas Costa and inland residential and golf areas. We restore existing pavers, stamped concrete and plain concrete there without replacing them: cleaning, crack and joint repair, masking, a tinted resin in two coats and an optional protective coat, from Sitio de Calahonda and La Cala de Mijas to Las Lagunas and Valtocado.

Does it matter which part of Mijas your property is in?

For the method, no; for planning, yes. Mijas covers the village of Mijas Pueblo, a long coastal strip and inland residential and golf areas, so the approach to a property can be a village lane, a coastal urbanización with a security gate or a quiet residential road. We ask where you are so we can plan parking, unloading and the route for the pressure washer hose.

Sourced sub-areas and urbanizaciones we cover include the ones below. If yours is not listed, it is still within our area, since we work throughout the municipality.

  • Village and surroundings: Mijas Pueblo, Valtocado, Cerros del Águila, Las Lomas de Mijas
  • Coast: Mijas Costa, Sitio de Calahonda, Riviera del Sol, El Faro, La Cala de Mijas, El Chaparral
  • Inland: Las Lagunas, Campo Mijas, Mijas Golf

Can block pavers be restored instead of relaid?

Yes, if they are stable. Concrete pavers that have lost their colour, gone mottled or picked up stains can be pressure washed, have their joints and small chips attended to, and receive a tinted resin. The paver painting and restoration page explains how joints are handled so the pattern still reads after coating.

If the pavers rock, have gaps opening between them or sit lower in tyre tracks, restoration is the wrong first step. Those symptoms point to the base, and our sister site covering loose pavers and empty joints deals with them. A short video of you walking across the surface tells us a lot about movement.

Depending on the property, the entrance and parking bays may be block paved rather than poured concrete; we confirm that from your photos rather than assume it. Whatever the material, the decision is the same: stable and tired means restoration, moving or sunken means base work first, and broken beyond repair means replacement on our main paving site.

What about stamped concrete and plain concrete in Mijas?

Both are restored in the same sequence. Stamped concrete keeps its texture under the new tint; plain concrete yards and paths are recoated with concrete painting. Cracks are opened where needed, cleaned and filled before coating, and our guide on surface preparation explains why that step cannot be rushed.

If your property is a golf-side villa or a townhouse inside a managed complex, check whether the community sets rules on contractor hours, parking for vans or visible colours. Where the surface is a common element, the owners' meeting decides under the Horizontal Property Law, and your administrator can say which majority is required.

What else should Mijas owners know?

Mijas sits in the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca; the sister site's comarca hub covers the wider area and our areas page lists the other municipalities. Mijas town hall sets the procedure for outdoor paving work in its current ordinance, so a quick enquiry there is worthwhile. For cost factors, see what moves the price. Frequently asked questions

Do you work in La Cala de Mijas and El Faro?

Yes. La Cala de Mijas, El Faro, Riviera del Sol, Sitio de Calahonda, Mijas Costa and El Chaparral are covered, as are Mijas Pueblo, Valtocado, Las Lagunas, Campo Mijas and Mijas Golf. We work throughout the municipality.

Is Calahonda in Mijas or Marbella?

Sitio de Calahonda is in Mijas, according to the sources we use. Some people associate it with Marbella, but for any town hall question the municipality is Mijas. For the work itself it does not matter, as we cover both.

My pavers have gone grey and patchy. Can they be coloured again?

Usually yes, if they are firmly bedded. After pressure washing and attention to joints and chips, a tinted resin restores an even colour. The joints remain visible, so the laying pattern still shows. Pavers that move need relaying first.

How do I check whether my pavers are moving?

Walk slowly across the area and listen and feel for rocking, look for gaps that are wider than elsewhere, and check whether water sits in tyre tracks after rain. A short video of the walk and a photo at a low angle are very helpful to us.

Can you restore a drive and a pool path at the same visit?

We can restore concrete and paved paths around the house in the same visit as the drive. For pool surrounds specifically, the Building Code has slip resistance requirements, and an architect or the town hall can tell you whether they apply to a private villa, so we may refer you to our sister site for pools.

Does the protective coat change the look?

It is a clear final layer applied over the tinted resin and is optional. Whether you add it depends on how the surface is used and how much you want to protect the new colour. We explain it in the quote rather than making claims about specific performance.

Our community in Las Lagunas wants to restore a shared path. Can you help?

Yes. We provide a written description of the work for the administrator and owners, plan the work so residents keep access where possible and send photos during the job. The decision to proceed belongs to the owners' meeting.

Can you remove oil stains from the garage apron?

Pressure washing and preparation reduce surface staining, and the tinted coat then evens out the appearance. Deep, old oil stains may not disappear completely before coating and can affect adhesion locally, so we look at photos and tell you what to expect.

Do you need a ladder or scaffold for anything?

Normally not. Restoration of drives, paths, patios and terraces is done at ground level with a pressure washer, filling tools, tape, rollers and brushes. We only need to know about steps or level changes that affect how equipment is moved around.

Can you check the town hall requirements for me?

We do not handle permits. Under Andalusian law minor works without a project can go by responsible declaration, but Mijas sets the procedure for outdoor paving in its current ordinance, and it is best confirmed by the owner with the town hall.
