Marbella villa drives restored rather than rebuilt

In shortIn Marbella, where we are based, we restore villa drives, carports, garage aprons and patios in stamped concrete, plain concrete and pavers without replacing them. A worn but sound surface is pressure washed, its cracks filled, its edges masked and a tinted acrylic resin applied in two coats, with an optional protective coat. Our own before-and-after photo set shows exactly this on a stamped concrete drive.

When is restoring a Marbella drive better than replacing it?

When the surface is sound and only its appearance has failed. A long villa drive in stamped concrete with a cobble pattern can look tired, faded and patched while still being perfectly level. Replacing it means breaking out the slab, removing rubble and starting again; restoring it keeps the slab and renews the surface. The decision tree in our guide to restoring without replacing walks through the questions.

What does our own before-and-after photo set show?

A real stamped concrete driveway renovation, photographed at each stage. The drive starts faded and worn, with leaves and stains, in front of a house with an arch, bougainvillea and a hedge. It is pressure washed, the cracks are filled with a grey repair material, brick edging is protected with masking tape, and a dark grey coating is applied by roller on open areas and by brush at walls and posts.

The same set includes a garage and its apron, and a carport under a reed-roofed pergola, recoated in the same way. We describe only what the photos show; we do not attach a location, date or size to them. The full sequence is on the step-by-step restoration guide and the service page for stamped concrete restoration.

Which parts of Marbella do we cover?

All of them. Marbella is coastal and belongs to the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca, described on the sister site's comarca hub. Sourced sub-areas include:

  • A–G: Altos Reales, Artola, Bahía de Marbella, Cabopino, El Rosario, Elviria, Guadalmina, Guadalmina Alta and Guadalmina Baja
  • H–M: Hacienda Las Chapas, Las Chapas, Los Altos de Marbella, Los Monteros, Marbesa and the Milla de Oro
  • N–R: Nagüeles, Nueva Andalucía, Puerto Banús, Rícmar and Río Real
  • S: Salto del Agua, San Pedro de Alcántara and Sierra Blanca

For neighbouring towns, see our areas page. Being based in Marbella makes a site visit simple to arrange once you have sent photos.

Large estates sometimes combine several surface types: a stamped concrete drive, a paved courtyard by the entrance and a plain concrete service yard. Each can be restored with the method that suits it, and paver painting covers the paved parts. Listing every area separately, with a photo of each, keeps the quote clear and lets you decide which ones to do now and which later.

What should Marbella owners settle before work starts?

The shade, the extent and the paperwork. A dark grey finish is what our photos show, but other tints are possible; choose one that works with the walls and edging. Decide whether the carport, garage and paths are included alongside the driveway restoration. For the town hall, Marbella's current municipal ordinance sets the procedure for outdoor paving work, so check it or ask the planning department; we execute the work and do not file permits. Frequently asked questions

Are you actually based in Marbella?

Yes. The business is a self-employed contractor, Bauman Raymond Attila, with an address on Avenida Antonio Belón in Marbella. We work across the whole province, but Marbella jobs are the simplest to visit once photos have been reviewed.

Can a cobble-pattern stamped concrete drive keep its pattern after restoration?

Yes. The aim is to recoat the textured surface, not fill it. After washing and crack repair, the tinted resin is rolled across open areas and brushed into edges, so the stamped relief remains visible under the new colour.

Do you cover Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro de Alcántara?

Yes, along with Guadalmina, Puerto Banús, the Milla de Oro, Sierra Blanca, Elviria, Las Chapas, Cabopino and every other part of Marbella. If your urbanización is not named on this page, it is still within our area.

What does the before-and-after photo set prove?

It shows the stages of one real stamped concrete driveway renovation: washing, crack filling, masking, coating by roller and brush, and the finished dark grey surface. It shows the method, not a promise about how long any finish lasts, and we do not attach a place or date to it.

My drive has a few sunken areas near the gate. Can you still restore it?

The sunken areas need their base corrected first; that is handled by our sister site for sunken paving. After that repair, the whole drive can be restored so the repaired section and the rest share the same finish.

Can the carport under the pergola be included?

Yes. Our photo set includes a carport under a pergola being washed, repaired and coated. Posts and walls are cut in by brush. Include photos of the carport and the posts so we can see the edges that need masking.

Can you match the colour of my house?

We can choose a tint that works with the façade and edging, and show samples first. An exact match to a painted wall is not always possible on a textured floor, because light falls differently on it, so we suggest judging samples on the surface itself.

Do I need a licence from Marbella town hall?

That depends on how the ordinance classifies the work. Andalusian law allows minor works without a project by responsible declaration, but in Marbella the exact procedure for outdoor paving comes from the current ordinance, and the planning department can confirm it. We do not prepare permit applications.

Is restoration cheaper than replacing the drive?

It usually involves far less work, because the slab stays and there is no demolition or rubble. For actual figures, compare the restoration and replacement pages on our sister price site, which show reference prices and the factors that change them.

Will you visit before quoting?

Often the photos are enough for a first written quote, which we confirm on site before work starts. For large or complicated villa drives, a short visit in Marbella is easy to arrange once we have seen the photos and the approximate m².
