Why does edge work matter so much on smaller Fuengirola plots?
Because on a small surface every edge is visible. If your property is a townhouse or a semi-detached house with a short forecourt, the paving meets a façade, a gate, a garage threshold and perhaps a planter within a few metres. A coating that bleeds onto render or tiles spoils the result far more than on a long country drive, so masking takes proportionally more of the time.
In our own photos, masking tape runs along brick edging before the coating goes on, and edges by walls and posts are cut in with a brush while the open surface is rolled. The same approach applies to a Fuengirola forecourt: tape first, then brush along every junction, then roll the main area. The surface preparation guide explains why preparation decides the finish.
What happens to the garage while you work?
It is usually out of use for part of the job, and we tell you in advance. A garage apron or an internal garage floor has to be washed, left to dry, repaired and then coated, and the coated surface must stay free of tyres until we confirm it can be driven on. If you need the car, park it elsewhere before we start.
Our photo set includes a garage and its apron before and after a dark grey coating, with the garage interior coated too. If you want the inside included, say so when you send photos, as the floor area and any stored items change the scope. For the whole approach, see driveway restoration.
Which parts of Fuengirola do we cover, and which services fit?
All of Fuengirola, a coastal municipality in the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca. Sourced neighbourhoods include the ones below; El Higuerón straddles the boundary with Benalmádena, so we cover it whichever side your plot is on.
- Los Boliches and Torreblanca
- Carvajal and Los Pacos
- Pueblo López
- El Higuerón
If your forecourt has cracks near drains and thresholds, crack and small defect repair covers them. Plain concrete that just needs colour is handled under concrete painting. If cracks are wide, stepped or keep reopening, the surface may be moving, and our sister site for subsidence diagnosis is the right starting point.
What should Fuengirola owners check before booking?
Two things: who owns the surface and what the town hall requires. If the forecourt is part of a community of owners, the owners' meeting decides under the Horizontal Property Law. If the work touches the public pavement or a kerb drop, a separate municipal authorisation is needed. For the private surface itself, Fuengirola's current ordinance sets the procedure, and the town hall can confirm it.
The sister site's Costa del Sol Occidental hub covers the comarca, and our areas page lists other towns. Cost factors are explained on what moves the price. Send us a photo and the approximate m² – free, no-obligation quote.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work in Carvajal and Los Pacos?
Yes. Carvajal, Los Pacos, Los Boliches, Torreblanca, Pueblo López and El Higuerón are all covered, together with the rest of Fuengirola. If your street is close to a municipal boundary, tell us; we work on both sides of it.
Can you coat the inside of my garage as well as the apron?
Yes, if the floor is concrete in sound condition. The garage needs emptying or at least clearing along the walls, then it is washed, repaired and coated like the outside. Mention it in your first message so the area is included in the quote.
How do you stop paint getting on my walls and gate?
With masking tape along every junction and brush work at the edges. Walls, gate posts, thresholds and edging are taped before coating, and the tape is removed at the end during the final clean. Careful masking is one of the stages shown in our own job photos.
My forecourt has cracks around the drain. Can they be filled?
Usually yes. Fine and moderate cracks are opened up where needed, cleaned and filled with an acrylic filler or mortar before coating. If a crack is wide, stepped or the slab has dropped beside the drain, we would flag possible movement and suggest a base check first.
How long will I be without my car?
We do not publish fixed durations, because they depend on the surface, the repairs needed and drying conditions on the day. We tell you before starting which part of the job keeps the garage closed and confirm on site when it can be used again.
The forecourt belongs to our small community. Who decides?
The owners' meeting, under the Horizontal Property Law. Your administrator or president can confirm which majority is needed for this kind of job. We can provide a short written description of the work to help the owners decide.
Can you restore block pavers in a Fuengirola patio?
If the pavers are stable, yes. They are pressure washed, joints and small defects are attended to, and a tinted resin is applied. Pavers that move or have sunk need relaying first, which our sister site for sunken pavers handles.
Does a kerb drop at my entrance change anything?
If the work touches the public pavement or the kerb drop for a vehicle crossing, a separate authorisation from Fuengirola town hall is needed, under its own ordinance. We restrict our work to your private surface unless the owner has confirmed the paperwork.
Is the protective coat necessary?
It is optional. The tinted resin in two coats provides the new colour; the protective coat is a final layer some owners add on surfaces that see more traffic or staining. We describe both options in the quote so you can choose.
What photos help most for a small forecourt?
One photo from the street showing the whole area and the gate, one from the front door looking out, and close-ups of cracks and stains. Include the garage threshold if the apron leads into a garage, as the junction affects masking.
