Which area should you restore first?
Usually the one you see and use most, as long as it is sound. If your house has a drive, a patio and a few paths, you do not have to do everything at once. We quote each area separately so you can start with, say, the drive and add the patio later. Choosing the shade at the start keeps later phases consistent with the first.
There is one exception to doing things in order of visibility: if one area has a base problem, such as sunken blocks near the garage, it makes sense to fix that before restoring anything next to it. Otherwise the repair work would disturb a surface you have just paid to renew. We point out any such dependency when we reply to your photos, so you can plan the phases with the full picture in front of you.
| Area | Typical concern | Service |
|---|---|---|
| Drive and garage apron | Faded, tyre marks, cracks | Driveway restoration |
| Paved patio | Grey, mottled blocks | Paver painting |
| Concrete paths | Hairline cracks, patches | Crack repair and concrete painting |
The service pages for paver painting and restoration and crack and small defect repair explain each in detail; for the drive itself, driveway restoration applies.
Can block paving in Zapata or El Romeral be restored rather than relaid?
If the blocks are firm, yes. Restoration washes the blocks, deals with joints and small chips and gives them an even tint while the joints stay visible. Whether a given property in Zapata or El Romeral has block paving at all is something your photos tell us; we never assume it from the address.
If blocks rock, have sunk in tyre lines or let water stand, they need relaying on a corrected base. Our sister site covers that locally on its page for paving repair in Alhaurín de la Torre. After that repair, the restored finish can go over old and relaid blocks alike.
Which parts of Alhaurín de la Torre do we cover?
The whole municipality. Sourced sub-areas include the ones below. Note that El Romeral is also the name of a barrio in Málaga city's Teatinos-Universidad district, so if you write to us about El Romeral, mention the municipality to avoid confusion.
- Zapata and El Romeral
- Pinos de Alhaurín and Lagar de las Pitas
- Torre Alquería and El Alamillo
- Los Tomillares and the town centre
Alhaurín de la Torre is in the Valle del Guadalhorce comarca, covered on the sister site's Valle del Guadalhorce hub. Our areas page lists the other municipalities.
What do you need from an Alhaurín de la Torre owner to quote?
Photos of each area, approximate m² for each, and a note on access. If there is a gate, tell us roughly how wide it is; if the patio is reached only through the house, say so. For outdoor paving, Alhaurín de la Torre town hall applies its own ordinance, so ask there about the procedure before you fix a start date with us; we execute the work and do not file permits. For cost factors, see restoration cost. Send us a photo and the approximate m² – free, no-obligation quote.
Frequently asked questions
Can I restore my drive now and the patio next year?
Yes. We quote each area separately and you choose which to do first. If you settle on the shade at the beginning, the second phase can be matched to the first. Keep a note of the colour reference we give you in the quote.
Is El Romeral in Alhaurín de la Torre the same as El Romeral in Málaga?
No. El Romeral is a sourced sub-area of Alhaurín de la Torre and also a barrio in Málaga city's Teatinos-Universidad district. We work in both, but please mention the municipality when you contact us so we plan the right trip.
Do you work in Pinos de Alhaurín and Lagar de las Pitas?
Yes. Pinos de Alhaurín, Lagar de las Pitas, Zapata, El Romeral, Torre Alquería, El Alamillo, Los Tomillares and the town centre are all inside our area, together with the rest of the municipality.
My patio blocks are grey but solid. What happens?
They are pressure washed, the joints and small chips are attended to, edges are masked and a tinted resin is applied in two coats, with an optional protective coat. The block pattern stays visible, because the joints remain.
Some blocks on my drive have sunk. Who repairs that?
Sunken blocks are relaid on a corrected base by our sister site for sunken paving, which has a page for Alhaurín de la Torre. Restoration can follow afterwards so the whole drive has the same finish.
Can the patio and the paths have different colours?
Yes, if you prefer. You can keep one shade throughout or give the paths a tone that contrasts with the patio or drive. We can apply samples on each surface so you see them side by side before deciding.
Do you need to come in through the house?
Only if there is no outside access to the area. Restoration equipment can be carried through, but we protect floors and plan the route. Tell us in advance and send a photo of the route so we can include it in the plan.
How do you handle the joint between the drive and the garage?
The threshold is masked and the coating is cut in by brush along it. If you want the garage floor done too, it needs clearing and is quoted as a separate area. Photos of the threshold help us judge the masking.
Is a protective coat worth it on a patio?
It is optional. It adds a final clear layer over the tinted resin. Whether you want it depends on how the patio is used. We explain both options in the quote without making claims about lifespan.
Who checks whether the town hall needs to be informed?
The owner. Under Andalusian law minor works without a project can go by responsible declaration, but in Alhaurín de la Torre the local ordinance sets the procedure, and the town hall can confirm it for your job. We do not prepare permits or projects.
