What can be restored in Algarrobo without replacing it?
Most surfaces that have lost their colour but not their shape. If your driveway, patio or yard is firm underfoot, drains roughly as it always did and simply looks grey, blotchy or patched, restoration is usually the sensible first option. We clean it, repair the small defects and give it a new tinted finish, keeping the slab or paving that is already there.
What restoration does not solve is movement in the ground underneath. Pavers that rock, dips where water sits after rain or a slab that has dropped near a wall point to the base, and painting over them would only hide the problem for a while. Our guide on when restoring makes sense and when it does not sets out the line clearly, and sunken areas belong with our sister site for re-levelling sunken pavers.
How do we work out the job from a distance?
Algarrobo has no sourced list of urbanizaciones in our data, so we do not guess at street names or estates. Instead we ask you to tell us roughly where the property is, whether it is a village house, a coastal flat with a terrace or a detached home with its own drive, and then to send photos. That is enough for a first written scope.
- One wide photo of the whole surface, taken from a corner.
- Two or three close-ups of cracks, stains or patches you are worried about.
- A photo of how a van would reach the gate or entrance.
- The approximate m² or two rough measurements in metres.
If the house is a second home and you are abroad, a neighbour or key-holder can open up on the day; we send progress photos at each stage so you can see the cleaning, the repairs and the coating before you return.
Which of our services usually fit an Algarrobo property?
It depends on what is on the ground. Where a house has a stamped concrete drive with a pattern that has faded, stamped concrete restoration is the direct match. If the issue is mostly hairline cracking and old repairs that stand out, crack and small defect repair comes first, and for a terrace or patio used for outdoor living, the patio and terrace restoration page explains how we treat edges, steps and planters.
- Faded or patchy stamped concrete on a drive or path
- Plain concrete yards that look stained or dusty
- Concrete or block pavers on a patio that have lost colour
- Garage aprons where tyre marks and oil spots stand out
Do you need town hall paperwork in Algarrobo?
Possibly, and it is worth checking before the work. Andalusian law (LISTA, Law 7/2021) puts minor works without a project under a responsible declaration, but each town hall's ordinance decides which procedure fits a given job. In Algarrobo, the town hall can tell you which route an outdoor paving restoration takes. We execute the work; we do not draft projects or permits.
Algarrobo sits in the Axarquía comarca; the sister site's Axarquía paving hub covers the wider area, and our full list of areas shows every municipality we reach. For the cost side, the factors and reference figures live on restoration cost. Send us a photo and the approximate m² – free, no-obligation quote.
Frequently asked questions
Is Algarrobo inside your working area?
Yes. We work across the whole province of Málaga from a base in Marbella, and Algarrobo is one of the coastal municipalities of the Axarquía. Distance affects planning rather than whether we take the job, so tell us where the property is and send photos to start.
My stamped concrete drive is faded but solid. Can it be restored?
In most cases yes. A firm, level stamped concrete drive that has simply lost its colour is the typical candidate: it is pressure washed, cracks and holes are filled, edges are masked and a tinted acrylic resin goes on in two coats, with an optional protective coat at the end.
Some pavers move when I walk on them. Is that a restoration job?
No, movement means the base needs attention first. Loose or sunken pavers should be lifted, the base corrected and the pavers relaid, which is the work of our sister site for sunken paving. Once the surface is stable again, it can be cleaned and given a new finish if you want.
Can you work while we are not in Spain?
Yes, as long as someone can give access to the property on the agreed day. We agree the scope in writing beforehand, and we send photos during cleaning, repair and coating so you can follow progress and see the finished surface without being there.
What colour can the new finish be?
The tinted resin comes in a range of shades, and dark grey is the one shown in our own before-and-after photos. We suggest choosing a colour that suits the house walls and edging rather than copying the original, and we can show you samples before work begins.
Do you name the products you use?
We work with Mapei products. We do not publish product names, technical data or drying claims on the website, because the right choice depends on the surface. If you want details for a specific job, we explain them with the written quote.
Will the cracks disappear completely?
Filled cracks are much less visible after coating, but on stamped concrete a trained eye can often still trace the line of a repaired crack. Restoration improves appearance and seals small defects; it does not turn an old slab into a new one, and we say so before starting.
How do I give you the size of the area?
Approximate is fine. Measure the length and width in metres with a tape or count paces, or send a plan if you have one. Several separate areas such as a drive, a path and a terrace can be listed one by one with a photo of each.
Why are there no prices on this page?
Prices for every service in the network are kept on one separate site so they stay consistent. On this page we only explain what affects the cost, such as condition, access and m². The restoration cost page and the calculator give reference figures.
Who will I be dealing with?
A single self-employed contractor, Bauman Raymond Attila, based in Marbella. All six websites in this network are run by the same autónomo, so the quote, the work and any follow-up questions come from the same person, in English or Spanish.
